This is one of the symptoms of the paradoxes of this remedy, viz., the irritation to cough increases with coughing. It is in keeping with the roaring in the ears better by music; piles better by walking; sore throat better when swallowing; empty feeling in stomach not better by eating, etc. It is the remedy of contradictions, such as is often found in nervous, hysterical persons. There is another place where I have found Ignatia to be excellent – that is, in the persistent cough following some cases of grippe. The patient can’t get rid of that irritable and persistent cough, though she otherwise improves. Ignatia 1000th, B. and T., cures such cases like magic. Try it.
