CORYZA.

FLUENT CORYZA –

Fluent coryza, cough and soreness in chest.

COUGH.

DEEP, DRY COUGH –

Deep, hollow, spasmodic, dry cough, with hoarseness, rawness and soreness in the chest; with suffocative feeling inhaling, and very difficult exhaling.

SCANTY, DIFFICULT COUCH –

Scanty cough, with severe asthma; the more he coughs, the worse he breaths (see sputa).

Severe, intermittent paroxysms of coughing, much more frequent and severe at night, with rattling of phlegm and vomiting during the cough; by day cough is slight; and in morning; loose.

Frequent vomiting with cough; also, vomiting of all food some hours after meals; or soon after eating, when paroxysm comes on.

Frequent paroxysms at night; vomiting and fever. Scanty cough consequent upon asthmatic attacks, especially such asthma as comes on in night and compels the patient to get up and walk about to relieve breathing; the cough is slight at first, growing more severe, the more he coughs, with aggravation of dyspnea; each cough brings up a little clear mucus like white of egg; sensation of fumes of sulphur inhaled during paroxysm.

SPUTA –

Difficult, or wanting at night.

Loose in morning, with severe expectoration, Little bit of transparent phlegm, with distressing asthmatic cough.

Clear mucus, like white of an egg.

WORSE –

Drinking; talking; loud reading; cough.

At night, cough worse, but present also by day in severe paroxysms, Lying down; after sleeping, cough and asthma.

Exhaling is almost impossible.

BETTER –

By day, cough less severe.

In morning, cough loose.

Sitting up, breathing better.

Walking about, breathing easier.

Raising clear white-of-egg mucus, cough and asthma better.

SENSATIONS –

General oppression of front of chest.

Inhaling difficult; exhaling almost impossible, with suffocation.

Rawness and soreness in chest.

As of fumes of sulphur, with severe paroxysms of cough.

SPECIAL DISEASES –

Whooping cough, worse at night : vomiting of all food some hours after eating, in uncontrollable paroxysms.

Attacks of cough after drinking, talking, reading (sleeping, asthma and cough).

Coughing spells day and night; child gets blue; must be raised up; cannot exhale. (Whooping cough).

Asthmatic paroxysms, waking from sleep 10 P.M., and again in morning; had to get up and walk about; with scanty cough and severe dyspnea.
