CORYZA.
NO CORYZA –
Dryness and pricking in throat; not better by drinking.
DISCHARGES –
Tough mucus in fauces, causing frequent hawking.
SENSATIONS –
Of a lump in throat, hindering swallowing.
As if esophagus contracted from below, upward.
COUGH.
DRY COUGH –
Dry, spasmodic cough, with dyspnea, stridulous breathing, and fear of suffocation, from feeling of constriction in the larynx.
Tickling, acrid feeling in larynx; two short coughs.
Dry cough, with sneezing, yawning, and flatulent eructations.
Dry cough, with vomiting.
Severe, spasmodic cough, with great dyspnea, which is worse from every exertion or motion.
Constriction of middle of chest; constriction of larynx.
SPUTA –
Scanty; or, none; nothing comes up from cough.
WORSE –
From exertion and motion, dyspnea worse.
Eating warm foods.
From exposure to cold.
RESPIRATION –
Dyspnea, asthma, and difficult breathing.
From constriction of air tubes, larynx middle of chest, and diaphragm.
With short inhalation, and long exhalation.
At times, fear of death of severed stage of paroxysm.
SENSATIONS –
Burning and pricking-tingling in air-passages.
Feeling of narrowness in larynx, with acrid tickling, causing cough.
Strong constrictions of middle of chest, causing great dyspnea.
As if the heart would stand still.
As if a foreign body in throat prevented breathing and swallowing.
Weakness and pressure in epigastrium : burning in stomach, and fullness in chest.
Spasmodic contraction of diaphragm.
Feeling of band around chest.
Great dyspnea; spasmodic respiration.
Stomach feels too full.
SPECIAL DISEASES –
Asthma nervosa.
Asthma spartica.
Whooping cough, especially when expectoration ceases suddenly.
Bronchitis, with much dyspnea and scanty sputa.
