CORYZA.

FLUENT CORYZA-

Dry coryza, becoming fluent in the open air.

Fluent coryza; the nose runs a clear stream; with hot, feverish skin, red face, loss of appetite, headache in occiput and temples, mouth sticky and putrid in the morning.

Sneezing, loss of smell, frontal headache, ptyalism, nose stopped, especially in evening.

Fetid, chronic, nasal catarrh; nose stuffed and painful.

DISCHARGES-

Fluent, warm water (bland).

Thin, excoriating (not usual).

In chronic case, much fetor; nose painful; dry and stuffed up; cannot breathe through it.

COUGH.

DRY COUGH-

Dry, short cough; child grasps throat with the hand.

Painful soreness of larynx and chest.

Croupy cough has more plastic exudate, but is not so dry and high-pitched as in “Spongia.

Dry morning cough, from tickling in the larynx.

Dry cough, from unendurable tickling in the chest.

Dry cough, with stitches and burning in chest.

Cough from deep down in the chest.

Wheezing, metallic cough; tough, slimy sputa, gray or white; salty, or sweetish.

Severe paroxysms of cough, rapid, short; can hardly speak

LOOSE COUGH-

Loose cough, with expectoration of large quantities of mucus, frequently blood-streaked.

SPUTA-

None; or, difficult, scanty, salty, or sweetish, sourish, putrid; gray, or whitish, or yellowish.

Difficult, scanty, rust-colored sputa.

Tough, slimy sputa.

Abundant, frequently blood-streaked.

WORSE-

In warm room.

In warm, wet weather in the Fall.

During expiration in the morning.

At night, followed by morning sweat.

BETTER-

From expectorating, sputa, tough and scanty.

LARYNX AND THROAT-

Larynx painful.

Hoarseness, or complete loss of voice, with desire to cough.

SENSATIONS-

Feeling of great weakness in chest.

Out of breath from least exercise.

Inspiration especially difficult.

Itching, unendurable, tickling, sharp piercing pains, burning feeling of great weakness, in chest.

Insufferable tickling in larynx and chest.

Itching, deep in chest; provoking violent, dry cough.

Violent chills, followed by fever and pain in chest.

High pulse, scanty, red urine, blood-streaked sputa.

Sharp, quick piercing pains in chest.

Chilly be day; cold chills run up back; heat in bed at night.

SPECIAL-

Itching in the chest.

Inclined to loss of flesh.

High fever; rusty or bloody sputa; dyspnea.

Croupous pneumonia; difficult sputa.

Gluey, rusty, yellow, blood-streaked, scanty sputa.

Food tastes bitter, but not drinks.
