CORYZA.

FLUENT CORYZA–

Watery, excoriating; like scalding water in nose and throat.

Acute coryza, with dull head-ache and fever.

Spring and summer colds, with violent sneezing in the morning; edges of nostrils red and sore.

Coryza in changeable weather, with inflammation of upper part of throat, and pain shooting into the ear when swallowing.

Nervous or catarrhal aphonia; irregular hoarseness.

DISCHARGES–

Watery, excoriating discharges.

SENSATIONS-

Severe pain in tonsil; excruciating when swallowing Fullness at root of nose; pains extending to neck and clavicles.

Tingling of nose and throat.

As if scalding water were streaming up from throat into left nostril; right one stopped.

Tingling in nose, with violent sneezing.

Giddy head, especially over eyes, with weight in forehead, dull pain, bound-up feeling, chilliness, pains all over, especially in back and limbs, and great prostration and desire to lie down.

All exertion discouraging; pain in forehead, back and limbs; great prostration.

COUGH.

DRY COUGH-

Violent, spasmodic, frequent cough; small secretion of mucus.

Irritative, dry cough, especially in hysterical women.

Spasm of glottis; burning in larynx and trachea.

Tickling and roughness of fauces, rawness and soreness of chest and hoarse cough, with the coryza.

From tickling and dryness of fauces; soreness in chest when coughing.

Spring cough, at beginning of warm weather, with debility.

SPUTA-

Scanty catarrhal sputa; or, none.

WORSE-

Much worse swallowing; pain from tonsil to ear.

At night; but continuing all day also.

Sneezing in morning, very violent.

THROAT AND LARYNX-

Dryness, roughness and burning in throat and fauces.

Spasmodic and paralytic affections of throat. Severe inflammatory conditions of the tonsils; quinsy.

RESPIRATION-

Sudden, alarming difficulty of breathing, with chilliness, slow pulse, and labored breathing; demands for fresh air; paralysis threatens.

** 640 ** Sudden SENSATIONS of suffocation, as in hysteria; respiration almost imperceptible; breathing sighing.

Sudden and severe attacks of dyspnoea, with crowing sounds, profuse sweat, darkly flushed face.

Extreme and alarming difficulty of breathing, with sensation of fullness and oppression of chest and great chilliness.

Extreme restlessness from threatened suffocation; continually demanding fresh air; pulse slow and labored.

PULSE-

Slow, full, large, soft.

Palpitation; fears heart will stop unless she is constantly on the move.

FEVER-

Dull, drowsy; hot.

Slow, full pulse.

Feels very languid; does not wish to move; face dull and red.

SPECIAL-

Great prostration; severe aching in all the body and limbs, especially the small of the back.

Very dull and sluggish; does not rouse up easily.
