COUGH.
LOOSE-DRY-COUGH–
Dry cough arising from the throat-pit (laryngeal), without the least sputa, but with pain in throat, which seems narrowed, and dry.
Worse evening and night.
Loose, deep cough without expectoration and without pain.
Painless, loose cough, without expectoration.
SPUTA–
None, or if any is loosened it cannot be raised.
Sounds loose, but nothing comes up.
Mucus hawked (not coughed) up, yellowish or somewhat bloody Much frothy saliva from the mouth when speaking.
WORSE–
Evening, and at night: dry cough; not a trace of sputa.
SPECIAL–
Loose-sounding, dry cough.
