CORYZA.

With swollen feeling in nose; dryness and burning in lips.

Dry in morning; fluent in evening.

Sudden coryza 4 P.M., nose dry, lips burn.

Chronic coryza with increased discharges; nostrils crusty.

Itching soreness and swelling of the nose.

Dryness and burning on the throat.

DISCHARGES –

Tough saliva, and hawking.

SENSATIONS.-

Swollen feeling in nose.

As if raw in throat.

Itching, soreness, burning of mucous surfaces.

COUGH.

DRY COUGH –

From tickling in the pit of throat.

Spasmodic cough, which ceases as soon as the least bit of phlegm is loosened and raised.

Obstinate, incessant, dry, spasmodic cough.

Hoarseness, with dryness and burning in the larynx (chronic).

Dryness, tenderness, and roughness. (acute).

General soreness and aching all over; in the morning, throat dry, no thirst (acute).

Croupy cough, from dryness and swelling in larynx or trachea.

Edematous swelling of lining membrane, either chronic or acute.

Epiglottis sensitive, sore, swollen.

Hoarse, dry croupy cough in morning.

Resonant cough, from incessant irritation in trachea.

With soreness of upper part of chest.

Hard, tickling cough, Ceasing as soon as least bit is raised, which must be swallowed.

Obstinate, dry cough day night, ceasing on raising a little mucus.

From ovarian irritation.

Dry gagging cough, worse lying on left side.

Croupy, ringing cough.

Soreness in chest.

Painful head; Labored breathing, as in croup; soreness of larynx.

Very spasmodic with occasional gagging.

Better from raising least bit of mucus.

SPUTA –

Very scanty and difficult.

Very much transparent mucus, slightly frothy and bloody.

WORSE –

Bending or stooping.

Lying down.

Walking.

In a warm room.

In morning.

At night up to midnight; rousing from sleep; with painful concussions in head.

Until the least bit of phlegm is expelled.

After sleep; before midnight; in the morning.

From pressure on larynx; from tickling in the throat-pit.

BETTER –

Sitting up.

In the open air.

As soon as small bit of tough phlegm is coughed up.

LARYNX AND THROAT-

Hoarseness, dryness, burning in larynx. (Chronic laryngitis.)

Cough from edematous thickening of lining of larynx : short, dry, incessant.

Larynx sensitive to pressure.

CHEST AND RESPIRATION –

Must continue to cough until the bit of phlegm is expelled on cannot of the tickling it causes.

Breathing feeble and interrupted.

Pale and very weak after being stung.

Breathing accelerated and labored, in ascites, especially after scarlatina.

Breathing irregular.

Gasping and very frequent and difficult (dropsy) breathing.

Great feeling of suffocation; cannot bear anything about the throat; face dusky, lips blue.

Chest seems full, with dull or sharp pain.

Bruised feeling in chest.

SENSATION – Great feeling of suffocation; cannot endure warm

room; or anything about throat.

Of heat in chest.

Bruised feeling in chest.

Burning and stinging pains throughout whole front of chest.

Burning of mucous membranes.

SPECIAL DISEASES –

Nervous coughs, Hydrothorax.

Spasmodic, dry cough.

Incessant, exhausting, intractible.

Better as soon as least bit of phlegm is raised, But may go on for hours before this is accomplished.
