MIND Depressed, disheartened.

COUGH.

Dry, hacking cough, from irritation in larynx, trachea, or behind sternum; with rattling of mucus in chest (sub-acute or chronic).

Dry, in morning; loose in afternoon.

SPUTA –

None in morning.

Copious yellow sputa in afternoon.

WORSE –

From inhaling, and from motion; sharp cutting and constriction.

Until 3 P.M., dry cough with rattling in chest; then copious loose sputa.

SENSATIONS AND PAINS –

Chest feels very light, as if breathing with more ease.

Pressure on chest, as after violent running.

Irritation behind sternum felt through to back.

Sharp cutting and constriction; worse from inhaling or motion.

SPECIAL –

Constriction of chest.

Cutting pains from front to back.

Belching with the cough.

Throat dry, without thirst; worse swallowing.
