CORYZA.

Nose stopped, dry coryza, especially at night.

Must breathe through mouth.

At root of nose there is a painful fullness.

Nose-bleed several mornings in succession.

Long-lasting coryza.

DISCHARGES – None, or bloody mucus blown from nose.

SENSATIONS –

Worse after eating.

Great dryness of nose and throat.

When swallowing, throat feels worse; feels swollen; feels as if something lodged in throat.

Enlarged tonsils look bluish, dark.

Much offensive mucus from throat.

Scarlatina with tendency to gangrene.

Great pressure at root of nose.

The brain feels as if it would force itself out a root of nose or above the nose, so great is the feeling of pressure.

The dull ear is painfully sensitive to noise.

Coryza of the aged and enfeebled.

COUGH.

DRY COUGH –

At 3 o’clock every morning.

As from dust in the throat.

As from a feather in the throat, at night. As from down in the throat From stinging and itching in the larynx, which feels scraped and dry.

With stitches in pit of stomach.

With stitches in small of back.

SPUTA –

None, cough dry, spasmodic, tickling, etc.

Blood, dark, or bright, with burning in chest.

Bloody phlegm; asthmatic cough worse in warm room.

Thin foamy, in adynamic cough in the aged.

RESPIRATION –

Least exertion causes great difficulty in breathing.

Asthma, emphysema.

Dyspnea with palpitation; much worse from motion.

Hoarseness; cannot speak loud; worse talking.

In chest, painful contraction with spasmodic cough.

LARYNX –

Many peculiar sensations.

Very dry; raw; scraped; tickling; tingling; itching.

Feeling as if it closed from side to side, of dust in throat; of feather in throat, or larynx; of down in larynx; of something lodged in throat.

Worse from swallowing.

FEVER – None; or general chilliness in P.M., followed by heat in face.

SENSATIONS –

Great pressure at root of nose, as if brain would force itself out at bridge.

Dust in throat; feather, or down, in throat.

Itching and stinging in throat; something lodged in throat.
