ALLIUM SATIVUM


Respiratory symptoms of homeopathic remedy Allium Sativum, described by Van Denburg in his book, Therapeutics of Respiratory system, cough & coryza, published in 1916….


GARLIC.

CORYZA.

More dry than fluent, with oppressive pain at root of nose.

Dryness, rawness and tickling in throat and larynx.

Sticky feeling in mouth and throat with heat and tickling.

Rising in esophagus; now cold, and again hot.

COUGH.

Dry, hollow, not very frequent, but Worse after eating (acute)

Loose morning cough with copious mucus, ropy, viscid.

Coming on after going into open air (sub-acute).

Chronic cough, ropy mucus.

Worse after rising in morning.

RESPIRATION –

Difficult breathing as if sternum was compressed.

Darting pains in back.

Pain in left chest.

SPUTA –

None, cough dry, or thin mucus, rather scanty.

Copious, ropy, in chronic cough.

Worse after eating, in morning after rising; and going into open air.

SENSATIONS –

Dryness, rawness, and tickling in larynx and throat.

Cold rising in the throat; alternately, hot rising.

Pressure in sternum, breathing difficult.
