THE NEW VOGUE IN HOMOEOPATHIC PRACTICE

Injections have to be repeated, in some cases every few hours or once or twice a day or once in a few days at least. Would you still call it a passing phase of symptoms? We would emphatically say “No” to any such argument by a homoeopath. The impact of repeated shocks will definitely change the mental picture of the patient. We know that fear and fright by themselves constitute the cause of so many human ailments and working on the same psychological basis we must conclude that some new complications, if not a new disease, shall come into existence as a result of repeated and persistent mental shocks caused by repeated injections.

Another argument that may be advanced by the adherents of injection therapy is that what may be true in the case of a child may not be true in the case of an adult for they do not exhibit any such change of symptoms. They might even go to the extent of saying that in view of the deep-seated vogue of injection therapy, people do not dread injections. On the other hand they sometimes invite them and often take them willingly. Our reply to such an argument would be, first, to exclude children completely from injections and for the rest we would say only this, “Where ignorance is bliss, tis folly to be wise.”

People take even Arsenic under a mistaken notion that it would improve their power of endurance without realizing what other harm it is causing them. We can only say that they do not know what may happen to them as a result of repeated injections. Apart from accidents which may happen in a course of repeated injections, a very common result is the formation of abscess or infiltration at the seat of injection and there are recorded cases where these infiltrations have developed into cancer. This usually happens in the case of persons of low vitality and feeble circulation of blood. The accidents which we have referred to above cannot be said to form an ignorable part of the harm that may be caused by a single injection even.

Unlike many other vogues which come and go, it appears that this new vogue of injection therapy has come to stay unless we, who are willing victims of this modern medical torture. some day decided to get rid of it; or wisdom dawns upon our homoeopaths to stop this torture in the name of science; or the Almighty God sends a saviour to save us from our medical tormentors.

In view of the disastrous results narrated above recourse to injection therapy by homoeopaths should be completely tabooed. That is the only way to save Homoeopathy from pollution.
