Many people are disposed to taunt us: If Homoeopathy is so perfect, why do not Governments here and elsewhere recognise it? Probably they do not know that, despite receiving step-motherly care from Governments, Homoeopathy has received or is receiving state recognition of recent years in many countries. And we are not to lose heart. Ayurveda is at least 4000 years old, Allopathy 2500 years, and Homoeopathy is not yet 150 years old, if we take 1810, the probable date of publication of the first edition of the Organon, as the commencing year.
Notwithstanding suppressions, oppressions and repressions from Governments and vested interests in almost all the countries from the days of Hahnemann down to our own, Homoeopathy is spreading its leaves, branches and offshoots in all directions of the globe: from a small town in Germany to the cities of France, America and England and to other countries overseas; and from the cultured metropolis to the rustic villages of India, Russia and China, to the jungles of Africa, and desires of Arabia; and from the main lands to the unknown islands in the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans; it is expanding and expanding in all directions like a mighty giant. This is a living testimony to the fact that despite governmental misanthropy, Homoeopathy is taking deep roots in the hearts of the people. Governments even now retain power to suppress it. But when states and kingdoms belong to the people, that are the actual recipients of power, Homoeopathy will be crowned in sunshine and mirth.
