CLINICAL REPORTS

CLINICAL REPORTS. Various remedies were necessary before the stubborn growth gradually disappeared. The hearts abnormal action became almost normal, and the eyes settled back into their, orbits, restoring to the patient her own sweet expression. Her general health has been very fair considering the damage perpetrated before homoeopathy rescued her.

In 1905 Mrs. W., living some distance from San Francisco, was stricken suddenly. The right eye became immovable and the lid refused to lift. Several oculists were consulted, five of whom diagnosed the condition as a tumor and agreed on surgical interference. Before calling the specialist from San Francisco they asked my advice, as I was visiting in their home town and being an old friend of the family. I could not discover any growth and told them so. My diagnosis was paralysis and ptosis. I was asked to prescribe.

The case was a perfect picture of Gelsemium. The lowest potency I had was 77M. which I gave and told the patient to report at my office in two weeks, which she did. Examination disclosed considerable motion in both lid and eyeball. Improvement continued, no repeating of remedy was necessary until cure was completed. Some five years later, the patient imprudently dried her hair in the sun; a stiff wind was blowing at the time. Suddenly the left eye became paralyzed, ptosis slight. Senega was the remedy that cured this time. No recurrence of trouble since; that was in 1910. Considering the history of paralysis and cancer in this family, homoeopathy has done marvellous work.

What one powder did in a case of retained placenta, result of miscarriage: I was called after the accident had occurred. Patient flowing freely. Examination disclosed open so and some tissue protruding. Patient complained of pain from sacrum to pubes. Sabina cc. one dose dispelled placenta whole and intact. Patient made uneventful recovery.

Evils of impure vaccine history. I will cite one case, Infant a few weeks old, its little abdomen covered with suspicious looking eruption. After questioning parents, both denying any history of a specific nature, the question of vaccination brought out this amazing story.

The mother was vaccinated as a child, no sequela this time. She had a little chum who was to be vaccinated, but feared the ordeal; to show how simple the whole affair was, the child who had previously been vaccinated volunteered to go through it again, which she did. It was not long before the impure virus did its deadly work. She suffered intensely; and eruption covered her body, the arm one large unsightly sore, discharging freely. Hair of head, brows and lashes fell out.

Her recovery was slow. In her early twenties she married. First pregnancy, twins, who died suddenly within a few months of each other in their first year without apparent cause. The baby I was called to treat came about three years later. He was not very vigorous but the vital force was sufficiently strong and manifest a desire to live. Careful prescribing saved this infant who grew to manhood and has children of his own, and healthy ones, as far as I Know. The family passed from my observation several years ago. Why Vaccinate?.

Exophthalmic goitre. The recordings of this interesting case were destroyed in our fire of 1906. The salient features are very clear in my mind on account of the time it required to cure it. Two years were consumed in the treatment of this disfiguring growth. Not long when success crowned my efforts, and medicine won the victory over surgery. The patient was 32 years of age in 1904 when she presented herself at the office for consultation. The goitre was then of four years duration. Treatment up to that time was of the “old school” and consisted of potassium iodide locally, by electric needle and sponge, also internally until the system was saturated, which caused an intense skin irritation almost unbearable; to this day, 1939, she suffers traces of itching.

Is this not a triumph for our school versus the one best bet of allopathy-surgery? The remedies used were Hepar sulph. to antidote the kali iodide; Calc. c., sulph and Tub. as indicated by the symptoms.

Face sallow, muddy.

A new symptom: Sensation as if there was a heavy weight in the abdomen. This is characteristic of Alumina, the chronic remedy of Bryonia, which should have been helpful.

Alumina 1M. B. & T., one powder. Enemas and physic forbidden, and he was instructed to report in three days unless the bowels had moved. The bowels moved naturally on the second day, and continued to do so daily thereafter. The patient says a miracle was performed. -Clinical Experiences, ERASTUS E. CASE.
