HAHNEMANNIAN PROVING

Now then, the symptoms obtained during the pure proving by the physicochemical effect of remedies, are realized at the expense of the affinity existing between the ingested substance and the organic tissues, independent affinity of the vitality of these tissues and the resulting symptoms from the effect of reaction or defensives are the result of the relation of the peculiar properties of the drug and the degree of susceptibility of the individual in a state of health, because the susceptibility of the organism is one of the fundamental attributes of life, therefore these series of phenomena give us two kinds of dynamic symptoms: the generic and the specific ones.

Dynamic generic symptoms are the symptomatic phenomena produced within man by a considerable number of pharmacological agents that develop a symptomatic scheme very similar among themselves notwithstanding that their effects are independent of their chemical constitution and their molecular concentration, for instance: Arsenicum, Copper, Veratrum album, Ipecac, Antimonium tartaricum, Colocynthis, etc., in certain doses all of them produce vomitus, diarrhoea, colics, cramps in the extremities, cold perspiration, thirst, etc.

Dynamic specific symptoms are those that manifest the particular and elective action of each remedy given to a healthy man and not in massive doses and that furnish a symptomatic scheme that allows us to distinguish clearly the pharmacodynamic effect of each one of them.

This dynamic specific action is divided into central and peripheric actions. The central action appears immediately after administering the remedy provided it is given in only one ponderable and not toxic dose and the peripheric action appears more slowly through the effect of small doses taken throughout long periods without interruption (impregnation dose or accumulation of medicamentous substance in the organism), for instance:

Mercury and its compounds in a massive dose are capable of originating dynamic central phenomena through its immediate effect upon the digestive apparatus and mucous (acute symptoms) and peripheric or tardy symptoms (chronic symptoms) through small and continued doses, producing manifestations and alterations n the skin, mucous membrane, glands, kidney, nervous and osseous systems, etc., until mercurial cachexia is produced; the same occurs with Phosphorus, Arsenic, Lead, Nitric acid, Silver nitrate, petroleum, etc. Similar effects are obtained in the same way with remedies of vegetable origin; Rhus, Opium, Bryonia, Belladonna, Podophyllum, etc.

All data obtained by homoeopathic pharmacodynamics since the immortal Hahnemann have been the subject of new studies and reexperimentations carried out at the present time in England, France, Germany, Russia, Italy, Switzerland, India, United States, Mexico, etc., by making use of all new methods of investigation that modern science may suggest, such as the use of chemical reactives, analysis, functional proofs, bacteriological examination, radiographies, microphotographies, etc., etc., and finally, the most important study in homoeopathic experimental pharmacology and pharmacodynamics, is constituted by the use of Dr. William E. Boyds Emanometer (Scotland) who since 1925 has carried out researches in order to confirm the action of remedies upon the healthy man.

Drs. Madaus, Schwabe, Neugebauer, Lesser, Picard, Phisalix, Arthus, Laurier, Renard, Fortier-Bernoville, Nebel, Bertrand, Azam, Charette, Richet, Dejust, Chavanon, Jarricot, L. Wurmser, Marage, Duhamel, LeHunte Cooper, Temple, Neatby, Wheeler, Chandra Ghose, Majumdar, etc., etc., have been very carefully carrying out provings and reprovings in Europe, Asia and United States, cooperating with all their modern scientific knowledge to the increase of one of the main bases of our homoeopathic doctrine: the pure proving.

The scope of homoeopathic proving in Mexico has been subject to exhaustive researches carried on with the flora and fauna native to the country, so that as experiments and reexperimenters we have: Drs. Manuel L. Legarreta, Achiranthes calea, Hoitzia coccinea, Paronychia illecebrum, Rajania subsamarata, Terebinthina (Mexican Ocote); Juan M. Arriaga: Antipyrinum; Manuel A. Lizama: Lemuy; Alberto B. Palma: Colostrum; Luis R. Salinas Ramos: Rajania subsamarata, Achiranthes calea; Eusebio Davalos Hurtado: Pyrogenium; E. Davalos Hurtado and Guillermo Hidalgo: Bougmancia candida (Floripondio); Manuel Mazari: Scorpion from Jojutla; Hermilo Flores: Scorpion from Durango; Gustavo Rodriguez del Solar: Scorpion from Colima; Hilario Luna Castro: Tumbavaqueros (Ipomoea Stans), Centruroides elegans scorpion.

CONCLUSIONS.

1. THE GLORY OF BEING THE CREATOR OF SCIENTIFIC PHARMACODYNAMICS BELONGS TO THE ILLUSTRIOUS FOUNDER OF HOMOEOPATHY, SAMUEL CHRISTIAN FREDERIC HAHNEMANN.

2. PROVINGS UPON ANIMALS AND LABORATORY TESTS are only to throw more light upon the elective action of remedies AND HAVE ONLY A SECONDARY PLACE IN THE RIGOROUS HAHNEMANN PRESCRIPTION.

3. THE PROVING OF THE REMEDIES UPON A HEALTHY MAN IS THE FOUNDATION OF HOMOEOPATHIC MATERIA MEDICA AND THE STARTING POINT OF A PRESCRIPTION SUBJECT TO THE IMMUTABLE BIOLOGICAL LAW OF similia similibus curentur.
