TIPS FOR CHILDREN


Antim tart, Apis, Gelsemium and Pulsatilla are thirstless as a rule. Arsenicum, Calcarea, Mercurius and Phosphorus often have extreme thirst. Arsenicum may want frequent sips of cold water but the Arsenic patient often desires hot drinks and is better from heat in general, both internally and externally. Bryonia has thirst for large quantities of water at infrequent intervals. Phosphorus wants ice cold drinks and to chew cracked ice.


1. Nux vomica: Care in administration; abortion is apt to follow.

2. Bryonia; Care must be exercised as it may be injurious during pregnancy.

15. There is one skin condition in childhood which is definitely associated with a remedy. Impetigo contagiosa and Antimony. Dr. Tylers specific was Antim – Tart.

21. I thought nail biting was due to some nervous irritation. Ammonium bromatum is the remedy in the repertory for nail biting. It is the only one there, and I think it works.

22. Dr. Boger in his little synoptic key gives three remedies, for nail biting; Arsenicum, Sanicula and Hyoscyamus. I have found Sanicula to be the most effective in treating that condition.
