SOME NOTES OUT OF MY CASE BOOK

I had a case of a 4 year child with infantile biliary cirrhosis, that most hopeless of all ailments, who bled from all orifices. Crotalus horridus failed and so did all my other drugs. Eventually I learnt that he bled each time he-cried in anger and Chamomilla 200 stopped the bleeding which all Vit. K. and Vit. C, injections also failed to hold and he died much later of acute pneumonia in my unavoidable absence from town.

I had a case of a child that was in a status convulsivus and all my best selected remedies failed, as also did all hospital remedies. Finally I wrapped up the child in copper foil and the convulsions stopped and he is a thriving child today.

And there is a wealthy woman that had spent a fortune on her pyorrhoea who was cured with three doses of simple unassuming. Pulsatilla and I made very little money on her cure.

And I had a case of cancer of the jaw that had been ruined by radium and deep ray that did surprisingly well on Hecla lava and Conium. I am surprised that he is alive today.

And there is a young merchant that came with indeterminate neurotic symptoms of eight years standing, all which pointed to Anacardium I learnt from him that while he was in his mothers womb she had used anacardium internally to excess. Anacardium 1M cured him completely so that I could not recognise him after a week. Talking of intra-uterine impressions, this is one, for which I need not refer to FREUD or the elaborate technique of psychosomatic Medicine of FLANDERS, DUNBAR OR ENGLISH.

Nor did I need much psychiatry in the case of two old gentlemen who suddenly went completely mad and were ripe for the nut house. They beat their family members, beat the floor, showed sudden squander-mania and prayed all day. Each got a dose of Lachesis 200 and got completely well. One of them had developed mania after Cibazol inunction for a bluish-looking crural ulcer.

Insanity in women is a tougher job and I have noticed an irresistible desire in them for excessive tobacco-chewing. Generally, women, biologically, have reduced sex desires during pregnancy and the lying-in-period. I have had three cases where nymphomania in them was an embarrassing symptom. I cured one with Zincum, one with Platinum and one with Lachesis because she was unjustifiably suspicious of her husbands fidelity. Most of these cases were taboo to the allopathic hospitals. Many of them had a clear-cut pathology.

Yet Homoeopathy cured them, I do not pretend to know how. More often than not I am surprised at the results because I least expect them. I confess there is something in Homoeopathy which we still have to understand. May be some of us still have too little faith in it. That it perhaps the reason why Homoeopathy is on the ebb, because of our lack of faith inspite of its undoubted successes. We have to find again the men of great enthusiasm and pioneering spirit like the men of old and raise the flag of Homoeopathy once again aloft.

It may be today:

“A moth-eaten rag on a worm-eaten pole

It doesnt look likely to stir a mans soul.

Tis the deeds that were done

Neath the moth-eaten rag

When the pole was a staff

And the rag was a flag”.
