Guide to Complexes

A guide to homeopathic complexes and polypharmacy with more disease examples and a list of possible remedies with dosage….

WHILE several remedies may be indicated for one weak organ, or disease of an organ, it does not follow that all the remedies should be employed. Sometimes only one may be necessary, but usually several are called for. When thought advisable guiding hints have been given. Those who do not use radiesthesia should consult a good repertory.

Experienced healers know that one disease is the result of several possible causes and every effort must be made to treat the individual and to attend to underlying factors. Those who practice radiesthesia, or those who use a diagnostic instrument of the Drown or de la Warr type, have a great advantage over those who rely on ordinary physical diagnosis, urine, analysis, spinal analysis, etc. A practitioner who is skilled in diagnosis from the iris also has some advantage. However, the experienced healer who relies on purely physical methods, and who has a sound understanding of human nature, will obtain all the information he needs from this guide, and the help of a homoeopathic repertory.

Although, as has been stated previously, the therapeutic values of certain remedies differ from the information given in homoeopathic repertories, it is wise to consult a good repertory whenever in doubt as to the selection of a remedy. It will be noted that the Schussler cell salts are given frequent mention; especially so in the compound tablet formulae. Indeed, any recognised work on these salts may be regarded as thoroughly in accord with the therapeutics of this newer method. In low potencies the cell salts come in quite frequently, but no quite so often in the main 30c recommendations.

I offer no apology for again referring to Dr. Guyon Richards. So many original values have been given to remedies by this brilliant man that in cases where I have good reason to believe that Dr. Richards has been the originator of a “new use” for a remedy I have thought it only fair, in recognition of his valued services in this new field, to place (R) after each of the items in question. If any such item has been re-discovered in this way by any other practitioner and I have, in ignorance, ascribed it to Dr. Richards I express my regret.

Dr. Richards selected most of his remedies according to the condition of the automatic nervous system (sympathetic and para sympathetic) e.g., whether deficient or over active. As only practitioners of radiesthesia can arrive at satisfactory conclusions on this subject, and in view of the fact that I wish to make this guide a helpful work of reference to all healers who employ natural remedies, no reference has been made to this matter in these pages. The recommendations have been very carefully compiled so that such knowledge is not essential.

IMPORTANT.- Always pay special attention to the affected organ, for it may be anticipated that the correct organ remedy or remedies will also eliminate the disease affecting that organ. A healthy organ cannot be diseased, so every effort should be made to tone and balance the affected area.

While remedies are prescribed for bacterial infection germs should be relegated to second place. Far too much attention is paid to germs and not nearly enough to the weak organ or tissues which act as host to the germs. Germs may be regarded as scavengers, and as I view the matter they play an essential part in clearing up disease conditions. Where there is filth the files gather. It is not sound policy to destroy the bacteria and pay no attention to the basic reason why they are there.

Of course bacteria can be highly dangerous beyond a certain stage: to say the least they can become destructive irritants and we seek to clear them away even as we would insects from a surface wound. In like manner we seek to control fever, but no one in his senses wants to suppress the fever-it is nature’s method for “burning up” the toxins responsible and also for destroying bacteria which are active in dangerous numbers. The point to remember is that germ slaughter does not remove causes. If our sole object is to kill germs we shall soon have our patients returning with more serious disorders.

“If I could live my life over again I would devote it to prove that germs seek their normal habitat-unhealthy tissue-rather than being the cause of unhealthy tissue.”-Virchow.

DOSAGE.

Chronic conditions:- Combine the selected 30c items in equal parts (dilute spirit). The dose for each formula is about six mins. in a dry spoon (no matter) on rising and again on retiring.

(Do not take a 30c formula within half an hour of cleansing the teeth, or chemicals in the tooth powder or paste may interfere.)

The dose for the secondary remedies is two tablets twice daily. When more than one tablet formula is indicated take two tablets of one remedy before meals and two of the other remedy after meals. If a third remedy is called for it may be taken with the remedy with which it is therapeutically associated. Hence, for example, two digestive and assimilative formulae may be taken together, or two respiratory remedies. Another method would be to administer a third formula at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Acute conditions:- If 30c remedies are employed the dose is twice daily as for chronic states. When the lower potencies are used the combined remedies should be used in the same manner as outlined in the dosage remarks for the compound formulae on page. 42. Thus a combination of items in 0 to 12x potency may be administered hourly or even more frequently in five or six min. doses. In most acute conditions the tablet remedies are sufficient.

(In my own experience the lower potencies are better for acute disorders: pain, fever, etc. Also for very sensitive people.)
