      Cayenne Pepper.

CHARACTERISTICS.

      Prostration and feeble digestion of alcoholics. Vomiting, sinking at the pit of the stomach and intense craving for stimulants. Flatulent colic in debilitated subjects.

TOXIC EFFECTS.

      Torpor of the digestive functions.

DOSE.

      Tinctura capsici, 10m.-I dr.Extractum capsici fluidum, 1/2-I m.

THERAPEUTIC USES.

      Atonic dyspepsia.Habitual feeble digestion, with flatulence.

Flatulent colic in debilitated subjects.

Prostration and feeble digestion of alcoholics. (Strong soup well seasoned with red pepper).

Torpor of the digestive functions from abuse of alcohol or opium.

Vomiting, sinking at the pit of the stomach, and intense craving for stimulants. (Ten minims of the tincture before meals or more often if required).

Summer diarrhoeas, with torpor of the intestines.
