Natural order – Thymelaceae. Common name – Spurge Laurel. Habitat. An ornamental, evergreen shrub growing in the West Indies and China. Preparation – Tincture from the back of the branches.
GENERAL ANALYSIS AND THERAPEUTICS.
Daphne acts upon the muscles, bones and skin and causes disturbed digestion. Used chiefly in rheumatism. Its most characteristic symptoms is sudden lightning-like jerks in different parts of the body.
CHARACTERISTIC SYMPTOMS
Head Feels as if skull would bust; as if head were separated from body. Heat in head, especially in vertex.
Mouth. Tongue coated on one side only (Rhus); foul-smelling; ptyalism.
Urinary Organs Urine thick, turbid, yellowish, like rotten eggs.
Limbs Right toe swollen, painful. Pain shoots upward into abdomen and heart. Rheumatic pain in thighs and knees. Cold feeling on buttocks. Shooting pains, shift rapidly (Pulsatilla); worse from cold air.
Generalities. Sudden lightning-like jerks in different parts of the body. Craving for tobacco. Parts of the body feel separated (Baptisia). Foetid breath, urine, sweat.
Sleep. Entire inability to sleep, sometimes caused by aching in bones. Dreams, with nightmare.
