Characteristic Symptoms

      Gnawing in one spot in left vertex. Denuded patches on the tongue, the remainder of the organ being coated, also mapped tongue. (Natr. mur., Arsen., Rhus tox., Taraxac). Sensation of a plug lodged behind umbilicus. Frequent sensation as if diarrhoea would set in. Pressure as with a dull instrument behind right false ribs, aggravated by deep inspiration. Sudden sticking in right great toe, passing into burning. Vesicular eruption with tendency to form large blisters. Exudation of an acrid discharge, which makes the surrounding parts sore. Broken slumber after midnight, constant tossing about, frightful anxious dreams about corposes, serpents, battles, &c. The remedy has more irritating properties than Ranunculus bulbos.

Therapeutics

      Fluent coryza with sneezing; burning micturition. Stomachache, diphtheria and typhoid fever with the characteristic symptoms of the tongue. Corns on the toes with burning and soreness, especially painful when the feet hand down. Vesicular eruptions with characteristic symptoms.

Dr. Oscar Hansen, M.D., from Denmark, was a corresponding member of the British Homeopathic Society and the American Institute of Homeopathy. His book 'Textbook of Materia Medica and Therapeutics of Rare Homeopathic Remedies' was published in 1899.
