Characteristic Symptoms

      Weakness in morning on waking and rising. Pain in the pit of the stomach during dinner, with distension of abdomen from wind. These symptoms ameliorated by loose, windy and dark stool immediately after dinner. Urging to stool at 5 a.m. with bearing-down pains in abdomen. Burning in anus. Dark, thin, bilious, very offensive stools. Coldness, then flushes of heat and sweat.

Therapeutics

      Chronic malaria with jaundice, diarrhoea, and enlargement of the spleen. Aphthous stomatitis of children. Chronic hepatitis, jaundice, face yellow and sunken. Dark, bilious, very offensive diarrhoea, with sallow complexion and sunken face. Dysentery, with burning in arms and great debility. Corhus circinata is similar Chelidonium in its hepatic symptoms and diarrhoea.
