Characteristic Symptoms
Discontented with everything. Frightful dreams. Tearing, pressing headache with soreness of the scalp, but often better by deep pressure or rubbing. Distension of abdomen with flatulence. Cutting colic before stool, better from pressure or bending double (Colocynth). Stool of bloody or of green mucus, or of whitish water with burning in anus. Menses premature, with pains in the abdomen and back.
Therapeutics
In its action a close analogue to Moschus. It suits women with nervous symptoms, which precede fully developed hysteria (Farrington). Hysteric asthma. Nervous women, who do not recover fully after typhoid fever or other exhausting disease, but continually are irritable, and suffer from debilitating and exhausting sweat.
