Characteristic Symptoms
General action like Arsenicum album, but more violent. Anaemia with sycotic bruit de souffle at apex cordis. Anxiety; believes, while vomiting, that death is near, and despairs of being better. Haematuria (Cantharis, Phosphor, Senecio, Terebinth). Praeputium and glans covered with many pustules, leaving round superficial ulcers.
Therapeutics
T.F. Allen gives in his handbook of materia medica following clinical case: Sudden suppression of menses, with internal chills for three days, followed by tearing pains in hands and feet, confused head, ringing in ears, loss of appetite, thirst, with vomiting of everything, rumbling in bowels, sleeplessness, diarrhoea of red mucus, tongue dry, red, cracked; expectoration of viscid, dark mucus, cough at night causes retching and vomiting. Arsen. album failed, but Arsen. hydrogenisat. cured immediately.
