Some Cases by Dr Dulac

For one month I knew nothing about what was going on in that desolate family. One day I met one of the brothers of my young patient. I asked him his news. He said, “Come, my mother would like to see you because she has many things to tell.”

I learnt then, during my first visit, from the mother deeply grateful and moved, that her son has completely changed.

A very simple observation regarding this fact. What is wanting in our present society is evidently the sense of the love for God, for the elders, even for the family. If platina were experimented fully how useful it would have been for the present society which is so proud. It is a simple idea that I want to say. Let the others who are more experienced put this remedy to practice and follow its results.

(10) In q848 at L.. an important town of the West, Henri D.. was holding the hand of his aunt, a charming woman but of light manner. One of their friends met them, saluted madam with courtesy then turning towards Henri said negligently to the young woman, “some wicked persons will say my friend, that you see are a chaperon.” Then he went away saying there words. Henri D. come to find me and told me with exaltation that he has been humiliated and he should ask the reason for it.

I tried well to engage him to think, recommended him calmness and moderation. Assured him that his friend didn’t mean anything malicious and wish to wound him. The wicked world, chaperon, became almost to him a fishy idea: “he has insulted me,” he said with great anger. “I will avenge for it at any cost.”

Being hopeless to convince him, I told him not to take at least any decision until I see him the following day.

When I visited him, his ideas were not in the least changed and he wished to take the revenge as before.

Only I found him shivering, although apparently he was very heated and I persuaded him with great difficulty, that he was very ill and that in that situation, a quarrel which will lead to a duel, was impossible.

He let himself guided by me and I gave him Iodium 200 2 globules, telling him not to do anything without seeing me. I visited him after three days.

At the end of these 3 days, I saw my young patient. He fell in my arms: “Ah! my friend how much I am indebted to you. I was mad and you have saved me from compromising myself and my relatives. I will forget the good advices that you gave me.” But he knew not that it was the medicine which cured him.

(11) Mme de V.. whom I was treating since 10 years, but I lost sight of her since many months, because her health or that of her relatives was all right. She brought to me her eldest daughter 16 years old, in my chamber. Marie de V.. has menses since 2 years, but her menses were very copious and very early. Her physical health was good but her mental health was far from being commensurate.

The young girl looked at me strangely and surprisingly which astonished me. She was, as I knew her, full of health and radiant with intelligence. She was as if apathetic and indifferent; dislikes conversation and movement; is distracted and with vague look which seemed to follow a dream in the air which has has begun.

Her mother and her family was very much tormented. I gave Belladonna 30, 5 globules in a spoonful of water to be taken in the morning while fasting. At the end of 8 days I saw the girl again. Her troubles were singularly ameliorated. Two globules of Belladonna 30 in a teaspoonful of water..

Fifteen days after, complete cure. She is full of intelligence which was clear and lucid as before. The family was grateful and happy.

This case helped me to cure several cases of imbecility that attacked many young girls during puberty.

Thinking about it, I could have able to see that puberty in young girls like that of this young girl, was really a stormy and critical age and since then I always said a the parents who were proud of the charming character of their children: Patience, wait for the adolescence; at that age the character takes colours and changes completely. So long your beloved children do not pass that age you may not expect anything for being rejoiced of this earlier.

But according to me Homoeopathy is there, which will redress the defects, remedy the imperfections, cure the exalted nature and will enliven and fortify the weaklings. Dr.. Ch. Dulac. (Hahnemannism. v. III, p.38, 1870..

(12) I take up again the continuation of my mental cases which I have treated by Homoeopathy during my long practice.

In 1853, a friend homeopathy, settled at Paris with his family, father and two young girls.

Since three months, his youngest daughter reached the age of puberty and the father remarked with anxiety that the character of his child was daily changing. She was becoming sulky, violent, irascible, speaking with such a volubility that one has hardly any time to make her understand and she did not wish to listen to the very just observation..

They family though, since some weeks that condition was due to some physical circumstances easily understood and will not be late to change and the nerves were only ill.

The let pass two three months without being very anxious but the symptoms aggravated. The unfortunate father came to consulate me, asking me if I have any remedy for the ailment of his daughter. He, more than once, appreciated the marvellous resources of Homoeopathy in certain affections of himself and of his relatives. I could have found a remedy for the strange aberration of his daughter which was making them really unhappy.

I gave him 6 globules of Hepar which he should give to his daughter dissolving in a spoonful of water. Twenty days afterwards he expressed me his gratitude. The young girl became as she was before and not cajoling and indifferent.

(13) A few years ago, Ch. B.. visited me, a student of the 2nd year of Ecole de polytechnique. He was among the first 20 students. The first year of his school was more brilliant, the 2nd year was also good, while at the end of the 3rd years, he found that his memory was failing him more and more, and at the sametime he was inapt to think and for serious works, difficulty to understand and to combine the ideas while reading or listening. Thus the numbers and figures drawn on the mathematical table meant nothing to him and seemed to him shrouded with a mist.

“Nothing is impressed in my brain,” he said to me, with very gloomy discouragement “and if you cannot remedy the atony of my brain, I will leave the school and resign and I do not know what I will do in my hopeless condition, because I will never be able to enter my family in this deplorable condition and to become a burden for ever.”

I assured as best as I could this unfortunate hapless persons and said “you have worked too much, and for which you are suffering. It is nothing but a great intellectual tension. The medicine that I am going to give you will release your tension of the cervical fibres and everything will be alright”.

As she could not leave school and is found always under the same cause, I gave him Natrum carb. to be taken at an interval of 3 days six weeks, 9 globules a dose of the 30th, in a teaspoonful of water on every Sunday.

The medicine responded very well according to my expectation, the studies were not broken, and the brain became as strong as before.

(14) Very recently during the last strike of the employees of a business of fancy articles, the young Leon F.. a remarkable young man of precocious faculties, having the spirit of initiative which is rarely seen at his age, was definitively dismissed by the proprietor, without any hope of being taken in again, because he was one of the fervent supporter of the rights of his comrades, rights that he believed to be legitimate and well founded.

The irreparable loss of his position and the pain for not being able to persuade his patron; the well founded reproaches of his mother of whom he is hope and joy, made him gloomy and melancholic. Ordinarily he was very communicative and mild to remarks, so jolly, has become morose, irritable, easily his self- control, the least contradiction puts him out himself and he remained hours after hours without taking part in any conversation.

His illness was recent. I had therefore every hope and I reassured the mother whose chagrin was increasing for the mental condition of her son.

I gave Nux vomica 200, 3 globules. Three days afterwards his conditions was so much changed that he was passing his days singing from the morning to evening. At the end of 10 days that excessive gaiety became calmer gradually but the other symptoms appeared.

He had some proud ideas which became manifest; respect for his elders and for his relatives diminished appreciably. For these many symptoms, I gave him platina 6000 and I was happy to see that his sentiments became natural; his regards for his elders became quite normal.

(15) His mother who had great hope in her son saw that her dreams for future are braking down, became in her turn deeply melancholic. She weeps and was unable to recover.

She lost her sleep, became disgusted of her life, was afraid of the future, she saw only misery and sufferings. Nothing was able to get her out of that sad and singular condition. I gave her Sulphur 600, two dry globules: the first week the symptoms seemed to aggravate. I was sure that the remedy was well chosen. So I let it act. At the end of 10 days everything changed as if by magic. The patient herself could understand that she was no more possessed by the gloomy ideas.
