47. Miss C., aet. 2, during morning, headache, pain in lumber region, arms legs and left side of throat. After 3 p.m., chilly feeling in the lumber region, extending up as far as between the shoulder-blades, cold hands and feet, finger-nails blue, general coldness. After from one to three hours, fever, flushed face, suffused eyes, lachrymation, running at nose; constant thirst; desire for cold and acid drinks; hands and feet cold; loss of appetite; restless sleep with frightful dreams: Eup. purp. 48. A young lady had been the residence of her lover struck by lightning. At the approach of another thunderstorm, she was greatly distressed with apprehensive feeling. After a dose of Gelsem she forgot all about it and disregarded the storm.- J.C. MORGAN

A nervous young lady, uneasy already before a thunderstorm, set up a terrific scream after a heavy thunder-bolt, and continued it without cessation in spite of the consoling efforts of the alarmed family, until they had time to run for the doctor. C. Hering
Hering got the degree of M. D. from the University of Wuezburg with highest honours. The theme of his thesis was "De'Medicina Futura" (The medicine of future). Hering left Germany for West Indies and finally arrived at Philadelphia in Jan, 1833. He established a homeopathic school at Allentown, Pennsylvania, commonly known as "Allentown Academy". Soon he became very popular as a physician. He is known as the 'Father of Homeopathy' in America.
