In conclusion, I would earnestly advise all homoeopathic practitioners to institute some experiments on themselves, in order to ascertain the pathogenetic action of drugs. By so doing, they will find that they will obtain a much better idea of the value of the contents of our Materia Medica; and I hold that every one who adopts the homoeopathic method of treatment, and avails himself of the sufferings of others to guide him in the selection of remedies, is bound in honour to contribute by his own sufferings to the common treasury of our Materia Medica, and thereby liquidate a portion at least of the debt of obligation he is under to Hahnemann and the other pioneers of homoeopathic therapeutics.
