COMMON NAME:

      CARBONATE OF CALCIUM.

Symptoms

      Often suitable during dentition of children (Belladonna, Mercurius, Podophyllum, Silicea).

Nervous excitement, with debility and loss of strength (Arsenicum, Kali-P., Nux vomica, Sepia).

Sees objects on closing the eyes, which vanish when they are opened (Argentum nitricum, Belladonna, China, Opium, Sulphur, tarent.) (D.).

Apprehension of some future misfortune (Anacardium, Chin-S., Graphites, Psorinum).

Anxious shuddering and awe as soon as evening draws neat (Aconite, Kali carb., Phosphorus) (N.).

Low spirited and melancholic.

Despairing, hopeless of ever getting well again, with fear of death, tormenting all ground him day and night (N.).

She fears she will lose her understanding, and that persons will observe her confusion of mind (Actea racemosa).

Palpitation : at night, and after eating (Br.)

Dry cough at night, which is apt to be loose during the day (Hepar, Pulsatilla) (D.).

SHORTNESS OF BREATH, ESPECIALLY ON GOING UPSTAIRS (Arsenicum, Bryonia, Phosphorus) (D.).

AGGRAVATION:

      In the morning; on wakening; from exertion of the mind; after eating; in cold and wet weather; from fasting; in the evening; after mid-night; from cold water; from washing; and during full moon.

AMELIORATION:

      From rubbing; from drawing the limbs up; whilst lying on the back; in the dark; in dry weather; and from lying on the painful side.

RELATIONSHIP:

      Similar to: Alumina, Belladonna, Calcarea sulph., China, Dulcamara, Ferrum, Graphites, Hepar, Kali carb., Lycopodium, Nat-S., Sepia, and Thuja)

According to Hahnemann, Calcarea must not be used before Acid nitricum and Sulph.; may produce unnecessary complications.

Calcarea acts best before Lycopodium, Nux vomica, Phosphorus and Silicea

Complementary to: Belladonna, which is the acute of Calcarea

It follows: Acid nitricum, Pulsatilla and Sulph., and is followed by Kali bichromicum

Note. In children it may be often repeated. In aged people, it should not be repeated; especially if the first dose benefitted, it will usually do harm.

Adolph Lippe
Adolph Lippe (born near Goerlitz, Prussia, 11 May 1812; died in Philadelphia, 23 January 1888) was a homeopathic physician who worked in the United States. Adolph got a legal education at Berlin. After completing his legal studies, Lippe became interested in homeopathy, and emigrated to the United States in 1837 to further his study. In 1838, he enrolled in the North American Academy of Homeopathy at Allentown, Pennsylvania, from where he graduated in 1841. He settled in Philadelphia, where from 1863 until 1868 he was professor of materia medica in the Homeopathic College of Pennsylvania. Besides some essays and treatises from the French, German, and Italian which became standards, Lippe was the author of:
