While dealing with chronic pain consider the following:

  1. Every Minute Cause
  2. Miasms [Fundamental Cause]
  3. Note Accessory Symptom
  4. If Incurable – Do palliation
  5. If gross pathology – Don’t go for
  6. Apart from above few clues always try to FIND OUT WHAT IS ABNORMAL OR ODD IN YOUR PATIENT. For example : A few years ago I had a case of Infertility that lady aged 35 yrs was facing regular torture by family for when I asked her regarding her feelings she said ‘ I am not bothering about it, if a child is written in my destiny I will get it. I am not that much old, I can wait.” In India age of 35 yrs is not considered as small!! normal consideration is that till this age the family should be complete means a couple should have at least 1 or 2 kids till age of 35.This lady was not bothering about age and family torture. In fact she did not want to visit me. In this case I felt this symptom as odd; unsuitable to her surroundings. I took the rubric less melancholia and prescribed Lachesis which gave me favorable results.

Similarly pay importance to patient’s INTRA-UTERINE LIFE, his HYIEGENIC HABITS and his FOOD HABITS. This will give you the perfect clue for prescription as everybody is natural at these three

places. No one can be artificial here. It will show you the clear and true picture of patient. Apart from physical symptoms try to touch the FEELINGS of the patient.

In chronic pain we need time to cure. but the patient who has become impatient always ask the first question ‘How much time will require for recovery?’ At this stage first explain the whole case to the patient. Convince him how disease has taken a long time to develop in his body so medicine also require at least few months for recovery. The body is not a machine which can be repaired by screws and hammers. First take your patient in confidence and prepare him mentally to keep some patience. Then only he will cooperate and stay long with you, but your way of explanation should be confident [ and confidence is reflection of deep study].You must create patience in him. This is a exam which a homoeopath faces many times in a day.

To command this technique is not easy that is why Homoeopathy is called as an Art!
