General [General]       This disease consists of an eruption on different parts of the body, more particularly in the back, which causes the animal to rub and bite himself, often to such a degree that the skin becomes quite raw.

Sometimes numerous small pimples make their appearance, and a thin watery fluid is discharged, which dries in the form of a dirty yellow scab; if these scabs are removed, small ulcers will be found underneath; in some cases patches of hair fall off from different parts of the body, and the skin becomes hard and cracks.

Sulphur [Sulph]       Sulphur is the principal remedy for this disease; a dose of three drops may be given once a day; the parts affected ought to be washed every day with soft soap and water and afterwards dried with a cloth; the following may also be applied externally, 2 drachms of Sulphur to 4 ounces of lard, well mixed together, and a little rubbed on the parts affected once a day. Arsenicum [Ars]       Arsenicum and Mercurius vivus will occasionally be found useful.

Dose. Three drops every night.
