Sulphurous Acid homeopathy medicine – drug proving symptoms from Encyclopedia of Pure Materia Medica by TF Allen, published in 1874. It has contributions from R Hughes, C Hering, C Dunham, and A Lippe…

Introduction

Acidum sulfurosum, SO2.

Mind

Most of them were quite furious; some were disposed to fight others, supposing every one they saw disposed to lay hands on them, made efforts, under the most extreme terror, to escape; others, quite listless, appeared to take no notice of what was going on around them; some where singing and some praying; many were as if intoxicated with ardent spirits. Those who had seen them in that state, assured me their actions were very much the same. Great anxiety.

Head

Became giddy, lost all recollection, and were affected as if they had taken a large dose of ardent spirits. Violent pain and beat- ing in the head, with ringing in the ears. Most complained of in sufferable headache, which was somewhat relieved after vomiting.

Ears

Ringing in the ears, with pain in the head.

Stomach

Many vomited, and others had an inclination, but could not do so.

Stool

Some evacuated the contents of the rectum, and others had the desire, without effect.

Respiratory Organs

A difficulty of breathing, and frequent involuntary deep inspirations.

Heart and Pulse

Heart palpitated violently. The pulse was different, in some remarkably quick and feeble, in other slow, feeble and irregular.

Inferior Extremities

Inferior extremities weak and very painful immediately above the knees.
