Sleep and Dreams.

Wakefulness a and restlessness; she was unable to fall asleep in the evening and frequently woke. Difficult falling asleep at night, and after falling asleep, a vivid, anxious dream which woke her; but after falling asleep again she dreamed the same thing. Vivid, disagreeable, anxious unremembered dreams. Dreams that menstruation, which had recently ceased, would reappear.

Fever

Chilliness. Paleness of the face and chilliness over the whole body, with internal trembling, at 4 p. m. the whole body was covered with gooseflesh, especially painful as if sore and abraded when touched on the upper arm, on the outer side of the thigh, together with anxiety and uneasiness, she tosses about here and there, wanted to sleep but could not. Heat. Burning heat of both cheeks, without redness or thirst (after twenty-four hours). Burning heat of the cheeks, with cold hands without thirst (after twenty-four hours). Sweat. Perspiration in the morning in bed, together with chilliness and gooseflesh, with anxious heat on the slightest motion or exertion of even talking, immediately disappearing when at rest or on ceasing to talk, whereupon the chilliness immediately returned; therewith the hands were sweaty internally.

(Morning), On waking, headache; in bed, worse while lying down, disappearing on rising, headache; in bed, perspiration etc. (Evening), Itching in canthi; waterbrash. (In open air), Headache. (Drinking), Burning chest, etc. (Eating), Pressure beneath pit of stomach; burning in chest etc. (Rest), Heaviness, etc. of arm. (Rising from stooping), Indescribable headache.

Amelioration.

(Sitting), Headache.

Dr. Allen compiled the Encyclopedia of Pure Materia Medica over the course of 10 years.
In 1881 Allen published A Critical Revision of the Encyclopedia of Pure Materia Medica.
