Introduction

Hydrochlorate of chinin. Formula, C20H24N2O2Hci plus 2H2O(Hesse).

General Symptoms.

Urea diminished 39 per cent. (a result deduced from examining the urine for three days before and four days after taking the Chinin. mur.).

The collective amount of nitrogenous matter in the urine was diminished 24 per cent; the sulphuric acid (mostly derived from albumen) was diminished 39 per cent, while the amount of water in the urine was increased.

Dr. Allen compiled the Encyclopedia of Pure Materia Medica over the course of 10 years.
In 1881 Allen published A Critical Revision of the Encyclopedia of Pure Materia Medica.
