Definition – A chronic disease characterized by circumscribed or diffused, variously tinted indurations, fixation, rigidity, stiffness, hardness and sometimes atrophy.
Two forms which are widely different in appearance, distribution and extent, although they sometimes coexist, are described: (1) diffused symmetrical scleroderma; (2) circumscribed scleroderma or morphea.
