Pain in last dorsal vertebrae.

Upper Limbs

      Lameness and deadness of hands; they look bluish.

Weakness, numbness and tremor of hands, when writing.

Cracked and dry skin of hands, even in mild weather.

Chilblains itch and swell.

Lower Limbs

      Varices in legs, with fidgety feet.

Formication in calves.

Sensation of stagnation in blood of legs.

Inflammation of tendo-achilles, erysipelatous worse from touching heel too ground and from wine.

Feet are sweaty and sore about toes; fetid.

Paralysis of feet, from suppressed foot-sweat, by getting wet; worse from wine.

Chilblains, worse from scratching and friction.

Coldness of feet at night.

Limbs in General

      Rheumatism, tearing, lameness and trembling; or crampy pains; of twisting in affected limbs and frequent jerking of whole body during sleep; worse from being overheated and from exertion.

Great weakness : of limbs; especially of lumbar region and bends of knees, when walking in open air.

Sudden sensation of weakness in limbs, with canine hunger.

Nerves

      Twitching in various muscles. The whole body jerks during sleep.

Hands tremble; grasps at flocks; or slides down in bed. Chorea, depressed spirits, health suffers; caused by fright; suppressed eruption; worse after wine.

Beginning of locomotor ataxia, when lightning-like pains are marked and intense.

Spasms : child cross before attack, body hot, restless at night, fidgety feet, right side twitching; pale children, during teething.

Neuralgia after zoster; better from touch.

Sleep

      Drowsiness : with frequent gaping; and yet cannot sleep, head feels so light.

During sleep; cries out, awakens with fear; limbs and body jerk.

Time

      Acts better when given in evening.

Chill Fever Sweat

      Chills : begin after eating dinner; in open air; on approach of a storm; run down back; alternate with heat; external, with increased internal, warmth; from touching anything cold.

Heat : internal, with cold sensation in abdomen and on feet; anxious sensation of heat, without any external heat, during the night; of face, with cool body in forenoon; in flushes, with violent trembling and short, hot breath.

Sweat : profuse all night, wants to uncover; easy during day, from exercise; offensive.

Sides

Tissues

      Especially, in the anaemic; brain exhausted; not able to develop exanthemata.

Dropsy, with uneasiness in renal region.

Contact Injuries etc.

      Scratching : Touch or pressure; Must loosen dress :.

Skin

      Itching in bends of joints.

Pains, seemingly between skin and flesh.

Rhagades, mostly between fingers, bad even in mild weather.

Sudden itching here and there, especially in evening in bed, goes off by contact.

Dry herpes over whole body.

Neuralgia, following herpes zoster.

Relationship

      Zincum is followed well by Ignat, but not by Nux vomica which disagrees.

Antidotes to Zincum. Hepar., Ignat.

Incompatible Chamom., Nux vomica

Zincum picricum (preferable, with dull, heavy, periodic, occipital headache; pains in small of back as if struck).

Zincum sulph. is useful in persistent dysenteric discharges; cutting pains in side of abdomen; also good when cannot sleep because of jerking of legs.

C. Hering
Hering got the degree of M. D. from the University of Wuezburg with highest honours. The theme of his thesis was "De'Medicina Futura" (The medicine of future). Hering left Germany for West Indies and finally arrived at Philadelphia in Jan, 1833. He established a homeopathic school at Allentown, Pennsylvania, commonly known as "Allentown Academy". Soon he became very popular as a physician. He is known as the 'Father of Homeopathy' in America.
