Mind

      Great anxiety of mind. with fear of death.

Angry about trifles.

Aversion to mental or bodily labor.

Sensorium

      Vertigo in morning, with nausea.

Beclouded and dizzy in head.

Inner Head

      Drawing lancinating headache.

Pulsation in head when raising it.

Headache in morning on waking, with pressing pains.

Contractive pain in both temples.

Quickly passing pain in occiput, from left to right.

Stitching pain in right side of forehead.

Outer Head

      Painful sensitiveness of vertex, mornings.

Eyes

      Left eye looks much smaller than right; upper eyelid swollen.

Contraction of pupils.

Ears

      Tearing pain of left ear.

Nose

      Child sneezes during cough; eyes water; rubs eyes and nose. Measles.

Acrid, corrosive, fluent coryza in morning.

Humid eruptions under nose, with stinging-itching.

Face

      Changeable expression and color of face.

During the heat, redness of face, followed by paleness, without coldness.

Lower Face

      Lips: twitch, and are covered with yellow crusts; black and cracked.

Tongue etc.

      Food tastes bitter, especially bread; or sweetish, especially soup and meat.

Mouth

      Much viscid mucus in mouth.

Throat

      Burning in palate and throat; dryness in throat.

Desires Aversions

      Insatiable appetite.

Desire for acids. Thirst for cold water, but the dyspnoea allows her to take but a sip at a time.

Eating and Drinking

      After eating : Cold drinks : Cannot drink, but can drink only in sips :.

Nausea and Vomiting

      Empty eructations.

Nausea; during morning cough; continuous, in pit of stomach, alternating with a pain in abdomen, as with diarrhoea.

Stomach

      Pressure in stomach, as from a stone.

Abdomen

      Cutting pain in abdomen, as from flatulence.

Painful sensitiveness of abdomen and region of bladder.

Stool etc.

      Painless constipation.

Frequent discharge of very fetid flatulence.

Diarrhoea, stools very offensive, watery, during measles, or looking black; slimy fluid, in frothy bubbles.

Urine

      Continuous, painful pressure on bladder.

Urine : increased, pale, with frequent urging; involuntary; scanty, dark-red. Hydrothorax.

When urinating, feces escape.

Female Sexual Organs

      Atony of cervix uteri.

Breathing

      Moaning, with open mouth; wheezing; rattling, with pleurisy, must sit up; short, from least exertion.

So out of breath cannot drink; child seizes the cup eagerly but can drink only in sips.

Cough

      Dry, night and morning; short, rattling, disturbing sleep; spasmodic from mucus in the trachea, or creeping sensation in chest; with headache; dyspnoea; spurting of urine; stitches in chest or pain in abdomen; caused by cold drinks; during measles; after eating; from every exertion.

Sputa white or reddish mucus; sweetish, or empyreumatic or offensive in odor.

The loose morning cough is more fatiguing than the dry evening cough.

Lungs

      Stitches: in chest, especially when inhaling and coughing; insides of chest. Pleurisy.

Pains in chest are worse in morning.

Especially suitable in pneumonia and pleurisy, after bloodletting.

Heaviness on chest; congestion of blood to chest.

Heart Pulse

      Pulse small and slow, slightly hard.

Neck Back

      Stiffness of neck.

Upper Limbs

      Sweat in arm-pit.

Convulsive twitching of arms; cold hands.

Lower Limbs

      Convulsive twitching of legs.

Cold foot-sweat. Sweat only on toes.

Soles red and sore when walking.

Limbs in General

      Tearing and restlessness in upper and lower extremities.

Convulsive twitchings and motions of limbs, worse in morning and evening, and during motion.

Soreness in bends of joints.

Chill Fever Sweat

      Chill internally at night, with external heat.

Chilliness toward evening when walking, not while sitting.

Heat of whole body, with cold hands and feet, with aversion to being uncovered; face pale after the heat.

Sensation of great heat in the body, in afternoon and evening, generally with cold feet.

Whenever he uncovers himself during heat, he suffers from chilliness and pain.

Sweat wanting.

Sides

C. Hering
Hering got the degree of M. D. from the University of Wuezburg with highest honours. The theme of his thesis was "De'Medicina Futura" (The medicine of future). Hering left Germany for West Indies and finally arrived at Philadelphia in Jan, 1833. He established a homeopathic school at Allentown, Pennsylvania, commonly known as "Allentown Academy". Soon he became very popular as a physician. He is known as the 'Father of Homeopathy' in America.
