Mind

      Music is intolerable to her.

Much irritability of temper, hysteria.

Hypochondriacal mood.

Great tiredness and laziness, with a feeling of deepseated inward trouble, which makes him melancholy and sad.

Sensorium

      Vertigo; especially in morning, fears she will fall; everything turns black before her eyes; suppressed menses; with congestions to, and heat in the head.

Inner Head

      Headache, especially in temporal eminences, suddenly appearing and slowly disappearing.

Frontal headache, pressing down on to eyes as if they would be pushed out; worse in morning on rising; better in open air.

Transitory tensive pain in forehead, as if skin had grown fast, with tension in eyes.

Ears

      Buzzing in ears.

Nose

      Redness of skin around alae nasi, painful to touch.

Face

      Flushes of heat in face, chilliness all over, and coldness of hands and feet.

Pale face; eyes lustreless, with blue rings around them.

Pimples on cheeks and forehead.

Teeth

      Drawing toothache, caused by masticating.

Throbbing toothache; at night, as if the tooth would burst; worse from the heat of bed.

Swelling of gums around broken tooth.

Tongue etc.

      Bitter taste of food, of milk and coffee.

Mouth

      Offensive breath.

White saliva, becoming frothy when talking.

Dryness of mouth and oesophagus, without thirst.

Throat

      Sensation of a lump in throat; when trying to swallow, but cannot; can swallow food.

Desire.

     Aversions Constant desire for acids and roasted coffee.

Nausea and Vomiting

      Heart-burn and sour eructations, especially when sitting crooked, which position also aggravates the other symptoms.

Paroxysms of nausea and qualmishness when she is in a crowd.

Frequent empty retchings.

Vomiting of bile, of undigested food eaten the day previous.

Stomach

      Stitches in pit of stomach, extending to back.

Frequent burning in pit of stomach, with drawing, twisting and gurgling in bowels, bearing down toward sexual organs.

Abdomen

      Tympanitis; bloatedness of the abdomen; rumbling in the evening in a warm room.

Labor-like pains in abdomen down to groins.

Soreness of abdominal muscles.

Pressing down toward genitals.

Slight sensation of motion in abdomen, as if something were alive.

Stool etc.

      Stools : of blood and mucus; diarrhoeic, with much flatulence; frequent urging, finally a liquid portion is discharged, followed by a hard portion.

Hemorrhoids, with discharge of bright red blood, causing pain in back, from sacrum to pubis.

Urine

      Vesical irritability, depending on gouty diathesis. Diminished discharge of red urine, with strangury. Frequent violent urging to urinate, with profuse discharge.

Retention of urine; discharge by drops, with burning.

Urine bloody and albuminous.

Male Sexual Organs

      Sexual desire increased, with violent continuous erections.

Inflammatory gonorrhoea, with discharge of pus.

Hard swelling on penis. Sycotic excrescences, with burning soreness.

Painfulness of prepuce, with difficulty in drawing it back.

Female Sexual Organs

      Almost insatiable desire for an embrace.

Menses; too profuse, too early; partly fluid, partly clotted and offensive; flows in paroxysms; with colic and labor-like pains; with pains from sacrum to pubis.

Metrorrhagia increased by least motion, but often better from walking.

Metritis, with hemorrhages.

Leucorrhoea : from suppressed menses; recurs every two weeks; thick, yellow, fetid; with itching of pudenda.

Stitches from below upward, deep in vagina.

Condylomata, with sore, burning pains.

Cysts at the vulva, sensitive, or with tearing pains during rest.

Chest, symptoms relieved by pressing on chest with hand,.

Pregnancy

      Promotes the expulsion, of moles.

Tendency to abortion, especially at third month; discharge of bright red, partly clotted blood, worse from any motion; pain from sacrum to pubis; pains in the legs.

After pains, with sensitiveness of the abdomen.

Metritis after parturition.

Breathing

      Shortness of breath.

Lungs

      Pressing pains in chest.

Heart Pulse

      Palpitation at every motion, especially when ascending.

Pulse unequal; generally quick, strong and hard.

Violent beating of blood-vessels in whole body.

Upper Limbs

      Arthritic stiffness and swelling of wrist-joint, with tearing and stinging, male almost insupportable when the hand hangs down.

Lower Limbs

      Heaviness of the legs, with painfulness of thighs when walking.

Stinging pains in the hip-joints, in morning and when breathing.

Sensation of coldness in whole (right) leg.

Ulcers on the tibia, with lardaceous base.

Swelling, redness and stitches in big toe. Gout.

      Drawing, tearing pains in extremities, especially at night.

C. Hering
Hering got the degree of M. D. from the University of Wuezburg with highest honours. The theme of his thesis was "De'Medicina Futura" (The medicine of future). Hering left Germany for West Indies and finally arrived at Philadelphia in Jan, 1833. He established a homeopathic school at Allentown, Pennsylvania, commonly known as "Allentown Academy". Soon he became very popular as a physician. He is known as the 'Father of Homeopathy' in America.
