MURIATICUM ACIDUM



Heat at night, with palpitation of the heart.

Burning, mostly in palms and soles.

Sweat during first sleep until 12 P.M., worse head and back.

Night and morning sweats.

Cold sweat on the feet, evening in bed.

Worse when sweating; taciturn; wants to uncover.

Intermittent fever, with periosteal pains.

Typhus: stupid sleep: while awake unconscious; loud moaning; lower jaw dropped; tongue shrunken, dry, like leather; involuntary stools while passing urine; sliding down in bed; bleeding from anus; pulse intermits every third beat.

Skin

      Painful putrid ulcers (lower legs), with burning at their circumference.

Eruption of pimples, forming scurfs on forehead, outer ear, lips hands or back of fingers; itching when getting warm in bed.

Blood-boils, pricking when touched.

Ulcers painful, deep, putrid; covered with scurf.

Black pocks.

Scarlatina: redness intense and rapidly spreading; eruption scanty, interspersed with petechiae; skin purplish.

Relationship

      Follows well after Rhus. Bryon.

Acid Muriaticum antidotes: Opium. Cures the muscular weakness following excessive use of opium.

Antidotes to Acid Muriaticum Large doses: carbonate of soda, potassa, lime or magnesia; also, sapo, medicinalis, small doses: Camphor., Bryon.

C. Hering
Hering got the degree of M. D. from the University of Wuezburg with highest honours. The theme of his thesis was "De'Medicina Futura" (The medicine of future). Hering left Germany for West Indies and finally arrived at Philadelphia in Jan, 1833. He established a homeopathic school at Allentown, Pennsylvania, commonly known as "Allentown Academy". Soon he became very popular as a physician. He is known as the 'Father of Homeopathy' in America.
