Mind

      On attempting to write something down, cannot, on account of loss of recollection.

Signs involuntarily, on hearing even a single note sung, laughs at herself; but soon signs again in spite of her determination to stop.

Changeable disposition: depression and hilarity; or, ill-humour and lively mood, alternating.

Restless, anxious, sorrowful mood.

Sensorium

      Vertigo, with confusion.

Congestion of the head, with nosebleed.

Inner Head

      Sudden broad thrust: in the right temple; extending into the brain, causing him to start; above the left frontal eminence, extending deep into the brain.

Eyes

      Must wink and wipe the eyes, frequently, as though a film of mucus were over them.

The light seems dimmer than usual, as if obscured by a veil.

Appearance of a spot jumping up and down before sight.

Pupils much dilated.

Feeling as though water were constantly coming in the eyes;’ only in the room.

Feeling in the eyes, like after much weeping.

Sore burning in the eyes after reading a while; also dimness, must wink frequent.

Twitching and itching in the upper lid.

Ears

      Humming in the ears, causing impairment of hearing, worse when stooping.

Nose

      Epistaxis of very tenacious, thick, black blood, with cold sweat in large drops, on the forehead.

Violent sneezing.

Face

      Yellowish earthy color of the face.

      Tongue coated white, papillae elevated, better after breakfast.

Throat

      Feeling as if the uvula were elongated, during and when not swallowing.

Desire Aversions

      Excessive thirst for cold drinks.

Nausea and Vomiting

      Eructations, tasteless.

Violent heart- burn.

Feeling of nausea in the chest and throat.

Stomach

      Distension of the stomach and abdomen.

Sensation of fermentation, in the stomach. Sensation as if something living were jumping about in pit of stomach.

Abdomen

      Sensation in the abdomen, as if something living were jumping about, with nausea and faintness.

Stitches in the abdomen arresting respiration, with uterine inflammation.

Stool etc.

      Stool contain dark, stringy blood.

Sensitive, dull, long stitch near left side of anus, from time to time.

Crawling in the anus, as from thread-worms.

Intolerable writhing in the anus.

Male Sexual Organs

      Excitement of sexual desire.

Female Sexual Organs

      Sensation as if the menses would appear, with colic and pressing towards the genitals.

Uterine flow during full or new moon.

Menses profuse and lasting too long, but come at proper time; blood dark, clotted, stringy.

Metrorrhagia of dark, viscid, stringy blood, in black clots, after overheating, straining or lifting, also after abortion or delivery; worse from slightest motion.

Pregnancy

      Lochia dark, stringy.

Breathing

      Offensive sickly-odor of the breath.

Cough

      Violent attack of exhausting dry cough, relieved by laying the head on the pit of stomach.

Cough, with spitting of blood.

Lungs

      Heaviness of the chest, must frequent take a deep breath.

Dull stitches in the left chest.

Heart Pulse

      Pulse: feverish,. accelerated.

Anxious palpitation of the heart.

Palpitation of the heart on going up stairs.

Upper Limbs

      Pain on moving the upper arm, as if the head of the humerus were loose and would easily be isolated.

Chilblains on the hands and fingers.

Lower Limbs

      Violent cracking of the hip or knee joint, when stooping.

Knees give way.

Chilblains on the toes.

Burning and tingling of the feet.

Aching of the soles from standing.

Nerves

      Excessive prostration and weariness in the evening, as from severe physical exertion, accompanied by great sleepiness, with feeling as if the jerking in the muscles. Spasmodic contraction of single sets of muscles.

      Signs in sleep.

Chill Fever Sweat

C. Hering
Hering got the degree of M. D. from the University of Wuezburg with highest honours. The theme of his thesis was "De'Medicina Futura" (The medicine of future). Hering left Germany for West Indies and finally arrived at Philadelphia in Jan, 1833. He established a homeopathic school at Allentown, Pennsylvania, commonly known as "Allentown Academy". Soon he became very popular as a physician. He is known as the 'Father of Homeopathy' in America.
