Generalities
Phos-ac. affects the MIND esp. its EMOTIONAL SIDE; in addition it influences sensory nerves; sexual system and bones. WEAKNESS AND DEBILITY common to all acids is very marked in this acid; with free secretion; profuse urination; loss of fluids; sweatings etc. except with diarrhoea. Mental debility appears first, then physical. Slowness of mind, and special senses. Pains go to part lain on. Sensitive to light, sound and odours, which takes away her breath. Sense of pressure; as of causing weight; in forehead, in sternum, in vertex; in eyes, navel, breasts etc. Formication; at root of hair; along the spine; limbs. Useful to those young people who grow rapidly and who are over taxed mentally and physically; when the system is ravaged from acute diseases; venereal excesses; grief, loss of vital fluids, it calls for this acid. Bruised soreness; like growing pains. Haemorrhages, blood dark. Bone diseases. Osteitis. Periosteitis. Caries. Rachitis. Diabetes. Neurosis of stump after amputation, better from deep breathing. Better
Warmth. Short sleep. Stooling.
Mind
Quiet; unwilling to speak, or hasty speech. Indifferent; to everything. APATHETIC; from unequal struggling with adverse circumstances, mental and physical; obtuse, or torpid; with tendency to diarrhoea or sweatiness. Slow grasp. Cannot collect his ideas; hunts for words. Poor memory. Settled despair. Aversion to talking. Answers, reluctantly or slowly, short incorrectly. Hysteria at change of life. Home sickness with inclination to weep. Mild delirium; easily aroused. Brain fag. Hopelessness. Dread of future; broods over one’s condition.
Head
Crushing weight on vertex; pain as if temples were crushed; worse shaking or noise. Vertigo; as if floating in the air, while lying in bed, with ringing in the ears and glassy eyes; worse standing, walking. Hair thins out, turns grey early. Falling of hair. School girl’s headache; from over use of eyes. Headache; after coition.
Eyes
Lusterless; glassy; staring; sunken; with blue rings around. Pain as if eyeballs are pressed together and into head. Eyeballs feel large. Yellow spots on conjunctiva. Loss of vision from masturbation. Sees rainbows. Photophobia.
Ears
Intolerance of noise esp. music, which causes stitches, even while singing himself. Nervous deafness after typhoid like fevers. Every sound re-echoes loudly in the ear. Shrill sound in ears on blowing the nose. Illusions of hearing; hears bell pealing. Earache on blowing nose.
Nose
Bleeding. Itching; bores fingers into nose. Nose swollen, with red patches or pimples on tip of nose.
Face
Pale, sickly. Tense as if white of an egg had dried on it. One side cold. Acne from onanism. Hairs of beard fall out.
Mouth
Bleeding, swollen gums, retract from teeth. Teeth become yellow and feel dull. Slimy tongue. Red streak in middle of tongue. Bites sides of tongue involuntarily; in sleep. Mouth dry. Lips dry, cracked. Painful nodosities on the gums. Taste of rotten eggs.
Throat
Hawks up tough mucus. Dryness of palate.
Stomach
Craving for refreshing and juicy things; for cold milk. Acidity. Sour food and drinks disagree. Pressure as from a weight. Loss of appetite.
Abdomen
Aching in umbilical region. Distension and fermentation. Loud rumbling. Cold. PROFUSE, PAINLESS; DIRTY WHITE WATERY OR LIENTERIC STOOLS; BUT LITTLE DEBILITY. Stools involuntary; escape with flatus; when moved, in children. Stools odourless. Liver; seems to be too heavy; painful; during menses. Flatus offensive garlicky.
Urinary
Urine; frequent, profuse, watery, MILKY. Diabetes. Phosphaturia. Burning in kidney region. Enuresis in first sleep. Whey like urine shortly before menses.
Male
Weak relaxed genitals; suddenly during coitus, preventing emission. Weakness and pollutions after coition. Nightly emissions; with lascivious dreams. Testes tender and swollen. Prostatorrhoea when passing a soft stool. Herpes preputialis. Eczema of scrotum. Sycotic excrescences.
Female
Uterus bloated, as if filled with wind. Menses, too early and too profuse; with pain in the liver, Itching yellow leucorrhoea, after menses. Health deteriorated from nursing. Sharp pressure in left mamma. Infants vomit milk constantly. Dysuria during pregnancy.
Respiratory
Weak feeling in chest worse by talking, coughing or sitting; better walking. Takes cold; better drafts on chest. Spasmodic tickling cough. Pressure or twisting behind the sternum; rendering breathing difficult. Expectoration salty.
Heart
Palpitation; in children and young persons who grow too fast; after grief; after self abuse. Pulse irregular; intermittent.
Neck and Back
Paralytic weakness along spine. Formication along spine. Spondylitis of cervical vertebrae. Lumbar region heavy, increases pain in legs. Burning along the spine. Fine stitches in coccyx and sternum. Boils on buttock.
Extremities
Heavy forearms. Wens on hands between metacarpal bones. Formication in limbs. Pains at night as if bones were scraped. Stumbles easily and makes misstep. Burning below waist. Cramp like pressure in arms, hands and fingers. Numbness along radial nerve.
Skin
Clammy wrinkled. Pimples, acne, blood boils. Tendency to abscess after fevers. Painless ulcers with stinking pus. Formication in various parts.
Sleep
SLEEPY BY DAY; hot and wakeful at night. Sleep deep but when aroused fully conscious; during fevers. Short sleep better weakness.
Fever
Cold parts; one side of face; abdomen etc. Heat with sweat. Profuse sweat; worse at night; as a sequel. Sluggish painless fevers.

He was convinced about Homoeopathy while going through Sir William Osler's writings on 'History of Medicine' so switched over to an entirely Homoeopathic Practice in 1932. He also started working on Homoeopathic literature along with his Practice.
