It has a marked action on the veins of the lower bowels and pelvic organs causing engorged haemorrhoids. In addition to the feeling of fulness in internal parts, it produces sensation of HEAT, DRYNESS, STIFFNESS and ROUGHNESS in throat, nose, anus, etc. There is a characteristic backache which unfits the patient for business. Pains are sticking or flying all over, hot like lightning.

Pressure as from a stone, with gnawing, aching pain, about three hours after meals. Heart burn and gulping up of food after eating. Desire to vomit with constant distress and burning.

Throbbing deep in abdomen (hypogastrium and pelvis). Tenderness and fulness in the region of liver. Jaundice.

Stools, dry hard; of several colours. Feels full of small sticks. Piles with sharp shooting pains up the back; blind and bleeding, purple painful, external; worse standing and walking. Constipation; hard, dry, knotty, white stools. Pains long after stools. As if a bug crawling from anus. Stools first part hard and black, then white and soft.
