W. L. Templeton If there ever was a drug which one might consider suitable for demonstrating the truth of the fundamental laws of homoeopathy, then surely Arsenicum album is that drug. It is known to the medical world for its uses and misuses, to the criminologist for its illegal uses in murder, than which there is no more popular poison, and to the laity for the publicity which crime has given it.
This paper is a continuation of one I gave you before the war on the Value of the Peculiar Symptom in relationship to the Totality of Symptoms, and which was founded on notes kept from day to day by Dr. Duncan Russell and myself of symptoms of patients in practice, symptoms which led us to prescribe the drug indicated by that peculiar symptom and in some cases for that symptom itself, it being that complained of by the patient.
There is no doubt that the serum treatment of pneumonia can offer similar results, particularly when administered early. With the reduction in cost of the preparation of the specific sera, it is likely that the serum treatment of pneumonia will become a routine in orthodox hands.
