The Bureau of Industrial Hygiene has been called upon by some of the more intelligent service station managers-particularly those having a large number of service stations to provide for-for a disinterested opinion as to the efficacy of these measures. One of the chemical substances on the market is essentially a combination of chlorine and formaldehyde, which is to be sprayed into the workroom.

THE CARBON MONOXIDE HAZARD IN INDUSTRY

The whole reaction is in the nature of a reversible mass action, dependent for its direction upon the relative tensions of the two gases. About one-half the equilibrium is reached in the first hour, and about three- quarters in the first two hours. On breathing fresh air, carbon monoxide is eliminated from the body at the rate of 30-60 per cent. reduction of blood concentration per hour.

LEAD ANEMIA
