Charles C. Boericke HEADACHES. Headache is often a biological reprimand, rather than a threat. The majority of headaches stem from readily reversible body changes and are an accompaniment of resentments and dissatisfactions. Of the headaches, the most common are vascular in type, including migraine and tension headaches. Headache may be equally intense, whether its complications are malignant or benign.
Sulphur typifies inertia and relaxation of fiber, with feebleness of tone. His general appearance is slipshod and unkempt. He is often thin and stooped. He is indifferent to the small amenities of life, having a mind above such mundane matters. When interviewed he is often affable, expansive and discursive. His digressions take the form of philosophical discussion.
The mental capacity is amazingly affected. There exists an incapacity to think, poor comprehension, forgetfulness. The mind is a picture of malaise and torpidity. If the patient attempts to read or listen to a speaker he has great difficulty in graspings the ideas and connecting the thoughts of what he reads or hears. There is slow conduction and lack or coordination of ideas, an inability to harmonize and systematize the parts of a paragraph.
In the notation of and attention to premonitory disease syndromes, orthodoxy has improved. Many excellent and enlightening papers have been presented concerning precancer states, prehypertensive types, etc. The idea behind these papers is to urge treatment prior to the establishment of a diagnosis.
Hints from any one or more prominent symptoms may lead in this manner to a remedy which would be found in no other way. Osmium.– Violent supra and infra orbital neuralgia with lachrymation.
