CORYZA.

FLUENT CORYZA –

Sneezing, worse at night; fluent, acrid coryza.

Sneezing as from taking cold.

Repeated chills all over, but beginning at the vertex.

Fluent watery discharge.

Nose stopped; discharge thick yellow; acid, and corrosive.

Great heat of head and face.

DISCHARGES –

Fluent and watery at first.

Thick and yellow later on.

Always corrosive, making inside nose, alae, and upper lip sore.

Much thick phlegm in the throat.

SENSATIONS –

Nose stopped.

Throat swollen.

Soreness more marked than the burnings.

APPEARANCES –

Eyes watery.

Throat swollen.

Glands enlarged.

Tendency to formation of ulcers in throat.

COUGH.

LOOSE COUGH.

With burning in chest when coughing.

From much mucus in larynx and trachea.

At night, after lying down, the inability to sleep.

SPUTA –

Abundant, thick mucus; or Scanty, tough, difficult mucus.

WORSE –

At night, after lying down; prevents sleep.

TOOTH AND CHEST –

Abundant mucus in larynx and chest, seems to obstruct breathing and provoke cough.

SENSATIONS –

Corrosive condition of mucous surfaces.

Tickling of mucus in larynx and bronchi provokes cough.

Raw, sore feeling in chest, with some burning when coughing.

Pain through left lung about base of heart.

Chilly all over, beginning at vertex.

SPECIAL –

Clergymen’s sore throat; singers’ sore throat.

Hoarseness worse from talking and brought on from too great use of the voice. (Chronic hoarseness).
