Introduction
Botanical origin, Convolvulus scammonia, L. Natural order: Convolvulacae. Preparation: Triturations of the dried milky juice of the root.
General Symptoms
Sudden vomiting and copious green stools, followed by collapse, distension and sensitiveness of the abdomen, and death. Slight pain in the stomach, with evacuation of faeces (after half an hour); (after third dose). Violent pain and a rapid succession of evacuations, leaving considerable inactivity of the lower intestines, lasting several days. A loose evacuation of faeces, attended with slight pain in the stomach (after half an hour); a second and third (after one hour and a half); (after third dose).
Evacuation of urine (in fifteen minutes); (after third dose).
Inflammation of the mucous membrane, attended by loss of appetite and headache.
